Chad Allen Roessler

Chad Allen Roessler, born October 15, 1982, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, after a several month-long battle with brain cancer. Chad, a native of Prior Lake, Minnesota, was a lover of music, movies, and literature–a true renaissance man who could carry a conversation on any topic. He viewed life through the lens of history and with remarkable knowledge of science. From classic films to modern blockbusters, Chad enjoyed them all. He loved classic rock, metal, punk, and really just about any music (except country). He read classic novels and rock biographies. He had an impressive comic book collection and encyclopedic knowledge of authors and artists. Chad had a movie quote for every situation that would bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was passionate about good food, going out to eat, and cooking for friends and family. Chad also enjoyed hunting with his family in Buffalo County, Wisconsin. On a related note: Go Pack Go.

Chad had an incredible work ethic. He graduated from Winona State University with a degree with majors in Business Administration and Human Resources. He earned a master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in Business and Finance. He enjoyed a fulfilling career based on expertise in finance and information technology. Despite success in his daily career, Chad, ever industrious, spent many years working a second job bartending on nights and weekends.

Chad had a generous and kind heart. He never hesitated to help a friend through hard times. He knew how to lift people up. And if you were having a good time, it was likely thanks to Chad. Chad brought love and laughter to all.

In 2019, Chad met the love of his life, Taylor. The two brought joy to each other’s lives and (finally) married on June 1, 2024. Taylor and Chad built an amazing life together, melding their friends and families, leading to some amazing parties and holiday gatherings at their beautiful home in Minnetrista.

Even though all his favorite singers had stolen all his best lines, Chad was a true believer with a lust for life. His legacy of kindness, passion, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him. He touched many lives and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Chad is survived by his loving wife, Taylor Roessler (Sorenson); parents, Mike and Beth Roessler; mother-in-law, Penni Sorenson; brother, Dustin Roessler (Mandie); grandparents Don and Joan Roessler and Colleen Van Beek, grandparents-in-law Lorrie and Howie Schaber; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dennis Van Beek, and brother-in-law, Hunter Sorenson.

A celebration of life in Chad’s honor will be held at Back Channel Brewery on August 5th, 2024, 4pm. Please join us at 4787 Shoreline Drive, Spring Park, MN 55384.
