Catherine Sue Wright

Catherine Sue (Hoffman) Wright, 47, of South Minneapolis passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on November 20th, 2023, at her home. Cathy was born November 9, 1976, to Paul and Eileen Hoffman (Drexler), in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She graduated from St Mary’s Catholic High School in Sleepy Eye MN in 1995 and she went on to attend Ridgeview Community College in Willmar, Minnesota.  Cathy continued her education at Rasmussen College and earned a B.S. degree in Business Management.  After moving to Minneapolis, Cathy met and married Charles Noble Wright on October 28th, 2006. They settled in South Minneapolis where they were eager to start a family of their own. Cathy’s devoted and caring nature made motherhood come naturally. She and Charlie were blessed with three beautiful children, Nolan, Ellia and Paisley Wright. Cathy worked for Children’s Hospitals of Minnesota as a Care Coordinator for the last 18 years. She enjoyed her job and loved her co-workers very much.

Cathy had a passion for people and a real zest for life. She was always up for a new adventure. Whether it be a road trip to a nearby water park/hotel with a crew of kids in tow, to parasailing in Mexico, going to Disney World with her family, white water rafting and concerts in Colorado with Charlie and best friends, or just enjoying summer days back at the lake with her family. Cathy truly enjoyed life and the company she kept. Her kind soul, quick wit and laughter permeated her surroundings wherever she landed. Her strength was admirable.

Cathy will be missed dearly by all who knew her, but her memory will most certainly live on.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Charles; her son, Nolan (15) and daughters, Ellia (13) and Paisley (10) Wright of South Minneapolis; her parents, Paul and Eileen Hoffman of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota; six brothers and sisters, Robin (Jodi) Hoffman, Jeff (Amy) Hoffman, Amy (Dave) Hengel, Becky (Jeff) Lux, Jenny (Paul) Vogel, Carl (Rachel) Hoffman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dan and Ginny Wright, of South Minneapolis; brother in-law, Anthony Wright, as well as many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and extended family. Cathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clem and Hilda Hoffman, John and Mildred Drexler, and brother-in-law, Mark Weymann.

Mass of Christian burial 11:00 am Monday, December 4, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace Church , 5426 12th Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am at church.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm with a Blessing at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Sleepy Eye Golf Club , in Sleepy Eye, MN.
