Carol Ann Olson, (nee Lenz), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15th at the age of 83. She was born in St. James, MN, to Nettie (Bly) and Frederick R. Lenz, who preceded her in death.
Carol grew up in St. James, where she graduated from high school. She married the love of her life, Melvin Olson, and they resided in St. Louis Park. For over 20 years, Carol managed her own vending machine business, at the City Hall in Minneapolis.
Those who knew Carol, admired her sharp memory. Her kittens were her companions for most of her life. Growing up on a farm, Carol loved gardening and canning her vegetables. She enjoyed listening to team sports, and books on tape due to her blindness.
Her faith was very important to her and she was an active member of her congregation.
Carol is survived by her nephews, James Prola (Barbara), and Steven Tweeter; Cousin Norma McClure; Goddaughter, Jennifer Long; dear friend and nurse, Margie Degen; special friends, Lyn Wik, Anna Olson, Jerry Olson and Michael Mielke, along with numerous friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin Olson, sister, Catherine Prola (Bernard) and nephew, Donald Prola.
Her family would like to acknowledge the devoted, compassionate care that she received from the staff at Avalon Memory Care Center, who became like a family to her.
Visitation will be held at Vista Lutheran Church, in St. Louis Park, Monday, November 21 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
