Passed away following a diagnosis of Pulmonary Fibrosis earlier this year. Carol was blessed with a long and wonderful life and touched so many in the community. Born in St. Augusta, MN to Raymond and Esther Mick and raised in nearby St. Cloud, she graduated from the St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. Happily married to husband Dennis for over 54 years. Professionally, Carol worked as an RN for nearly five decades, primarily at North Memorial Medical Center where she specialized in Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine and then Nursing Administration. She also filled the role of bookkeeper for her husband's (and later son's) business DAL Machine, Inc. all the while raising four children who married and lead to 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Carol was the family matriarch in the classical and best sense, a stream of positive energy, a role model and ever-concerned for all around her. An avid gardener her entire life, she leaves a conservatory-quality hosta and fern garden which is possibly visible from outer space. Carol loved to travel and together with her husband, travelled the world. There were many trips with her children and their families and lest we forget her "girl time" trips with her very dear "six-pack" friends. Alas, there must be a nursing shortage in Heaven because we don't know why else God would have called her there so soon. She will be tremendously missed. Survived by her husband Dennis; children Kent (Zina) Lee, Dawn (Rick) Hammer, Jeff (Terri) Lee, Jill (Kyle) Coolbroth; grandchildren Nick (Maria), Jessica (Derek), Emily (Andrew), Stefanie, Sasha, Nadia, Alex, Rachel, Madison, Sydney, Elena; great grandchildren Dominque, Carolina, Alanna, Rylie, Bryce; sisters Sandra (Merwin) Alferness and LuAnn Mick; brother David (Dee) Mick and nieces and nephews. Private interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove at a future date. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the University of MN Foundation, Fund #12728 - ILD Research.
