Carol Ann Fagerstrom passed away on February 5, 2019 at Meadow Ridge Senior Living in Golden Valley, MN at the age of 95.
Carol was born on May 6, 1923 in Oslo, MN, to Ole and Anna Finseth. She graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth, and was married to Henry Fagerstrom on April 27, 1946.
Carol loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist, serving in several churches in the Duluth area. She gave piano lessons in her home for many years, until arthritis in her hands made it too hard to continue.
Carol loved camping and canoeing and traveling. Carol and Hank traveled extensively across the country, and also visited far-flung places including Alaska, Ireland, Scandinavia, Finland and Israel.
Church was foundational to Carol. Almost immediately after moving to New Hope in 1965, she became involved in a women’s neighborhood bible study. This group included members from different churches and has continued to meet for over 50 years.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry in 1993, older brothers Lloyd and Oliver, and younger sisters Donna Mae and Ivah.
Carol is survived by her sons, Steven (Sherry) of Rosemount, MN, Neil (Kay) of Cambridge, MN and Thomas (JoAnne) of Crystal, MN; and by her grandchildren, John, Christopher (Chelsea), Lea (Andrew), Jill, Shawn and Erik; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
The memorial service for Carol Fagerstrom will be at 1 PM Saturday, February 16 th at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
