Carlos Figueroa
On Sunday, June 28, 2020, Carlos Figueroa, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria, son Carlos, sister Norma, brother Everton, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Esteban and Maria Escalona, brothers Esteban, Jorge and Rolando and sisters Luz and Isabel.
Carlos was born on September 7, 1932 in Camaguey Cuba. In 1956, he married Maria Eladia Gonzalez. They had one son Carlos Manuel. After proudly serving in the United States Army Carlos began his career in Minneapolis as a sign painter. In the 1970’s he opened Apex Sign & Display then founded CF Marketing sign supply in 1986.
Carlos was active in his community organizing food drives for the St Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP). He coached youth baseball in St Louis Park for a decade. He loved gardening and working in the yard with his sister Norma. Above all, Carlos loved his family and kept them close to his heart.
A private service will be held for family at 11 AM Thursday July 2nd at Gearty-Delmore St Louis Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimers Association, STEP, or other local food banks.
