Brittany Katherine Boegel

Brittany K. Boegel, age 32, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Anchorage, AK from injuries sustained in a hiking accident.

Brittany was born on June 18, 1986 in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Don and Trish (Trausch) Boegel. She graduated from St Benedicts College with a bachelor’s degree in Education and received her master’s degree from Loyola Marymount in LA through PLACE Corps. Brittany started her teaching career at St Columbkilles Catholic School in LA. She then moved back to Minnesota to teach at Minneapolis Academy and then Venture Academy.

Teaching allowed Brittany to travel the world on her breaks and she recently returned from the World Cup in Russia, Budapest and Krakow. She enjoyed outdoor activities – meeting friends to run, hike or bike and played on several Rec sports teams. She made a point of always introducing new games to family and friends, was an avid reader and fluent in Spanish. Her passion was giving back to others through teaching and supporting many  charitable organizations.

Surviving are her parents, Don and Trish Boegel of Mound, MN; her brothers Jacob (Ashley) Boegel of Maple Grove, MN, Taylor Boegel of Ft Myers, FL, and David Boegel of Mound, MN; her grandmothers, many aunts, uncles and cousins; her boyfriend Max McFee and countless friends.
