Brian Lee Jones

Brian Lee Jones, 78, of Minnetonka died December 20, 2020, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, MN after a tough fight against Covid-19. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Jean Jones. Survived by children – Deanna (Kent) Grimsrud, Chris Jones and grandchildren Lauren and Riley Grimsrud. Brian was a 1960 graduate from St. Louis Park High School and got his BA in Business from St. Cloud State University. Brian loved to travel. He especially loved New York at Christmas time, spending time up north on Gull Lake and Nisswa and spent many years living in Desert Mountain in AZ. He adored dogs, all dogs, but his heart belonged to his loyal companion, Rocky, his black lab who only ate “burgers and ice cream”. He was an avid sports lover who had weekly bets with his buddies on every game with high stakes such as lunch at Arby’s. He had a witty sense of humor, was a savvy political debater and was skilled at storytelling, but, most of all, he loved being with his family and sharing a good meal. Special thank you to the amazing care team at Abbott for their compassionate care of our dad when we were unable to be there with him. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date when we can celebrate the way in which he would have wanted. Memorials can be made to the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation.
