Beverly Ann Hart

May 23, 1939 — September 12, 2017

Beverly Ann Hart

Beverly Ann Hart, known to all as Bev, was a pastor before there were many other women in the ministry. She graduated from North Central Bible College (now NCU) in Minneapolis in 1964, and her first stop in a life of service to God was at the Assemblies of God Granite Falls Indian Chapel.

She left behind many friends and adopted family members who appreciated her quick wit, her kind spirit and her willingness to make the best of whatever life threw at her.

One example of many: A battle with leukemia in her 40s left her deaf as a side effect of treatment, but she was such a good lip reader that many people she met never realized it. She became fluent in ASL and began leading a deaf group and ASL class at Fridley Assembly of God in 1982, and went on to be a pastor at Pleasant View Deaf Assembly in 1988.

She did beautiful needlework, and likely everyone she knew had some of it, because she was prolific.

Oddly enough, in the last couple years, her hearing returned.

For the past year or so, she had been battling with her memory and her balance. She died at 78 from complications of her second recent fall.

Bev was born on May 23, 1939, the child of Inez and James Hart in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Garnett High School in Kansas before heading north to Minnesota, where she spent the rest of her life.

She is survived by her sisters Barbara Wilson, Broken Arrow, Okla., Marjorie Gisi, Topeka, Kans., Margaret Martin, Redding, Calif., and a whole bunch of nieces and nephews and their children.

A burial service will be held on October 4th at 1:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.

Visitation one hour prior to service.
