It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverly Gildemeister-wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on July 25, 2024, with her family at her side.
Bev was born to Richard and Mae Betzold on May 17, 1933, in Hastings, MN. She was the second child and had an older and younger brother. In 1943 the family moved to Minneapolis right near Minnehaha Falls. Bev was 10 years old at that time. Karl was 11 years old and lived just down the block from her. Karl became friends with Bev's brother, Warren, first. When he was with Warren one day, he met Bev. He asked Warren "is that your sister?!" and the rest is history!
Bev graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951 and she and Karl were married on February 5, 1952, just four days before Karl was deployed to the U.S. Army. On his return in 1954 he was employed as a test baker for Pillsbury. They had three daughters who especially enjoyed the cross country month-long summer camping trips!
After raising their daughters, Bev also was employed by Pillsbury, working in human resources in their Research and Development Bldg. Once again just across the block from where Karl worked. Upon retiring, she and Karl bought a 34 foot motor home and traveled the country for many winters before eventually deciding on a home base in Minnesota for six months and Arizona for six months when Minnesota got too cold. The best of both worlds!
She loved, and was deeply loved by, her close-knit family. She has left many memories to cherish and treasure.
Bev was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jeannie; her parents, Richard and Mae Betzold; brothers, Warren and Gerald.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Karl; daughters, Debbie Trombley (Joe), and Vicki Connor (Jim); grandchildren Tara Kolberg (Ryan), Thomas Trombley (Hu Huang), Elise Schroepfer (Tom), and Matt Gildemeister; great-grandchildren, Mikaia, Jayla, and Enzo Kolberg, and Eva and Mila Schroepfer. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, and other close relatives.
Memorial Service will be Friday, August 30 at 3pm at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth with a visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society in memory of her youngest daughter, Jeannie.
