Betty Jo Davey

Davey, Betty Jo (Larson) age 81, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 1, 2020 at her home in Elk River.  Her husband of 50 years was by her side.

Betty was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia and after several moves, settled in Minnesota in 1961.  She met and married Raymond Davey in 1969 and together they built a life with their six children.  In her early 40’s Betty earned her GED and, because it was her lifelong dream, continued her education to earn her LPN degree.  She worked at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids until her retirement.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother.  She was known for being feisty, kind and caring and for her immense love of family and friends. She will be dearly missed and will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond and six children, Dee (Ed) Mellen, Debbie (Paul) Martinson, Ken (Julie) Davey, Peter Thorn, Teresa Davey, Paul (Kelly) Davey, 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, Sister, Reba Whiteoak and brothers, Richard (Jan) Larson and Carl Larson.  Many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Allina Hospice Team, Ann, Mikailah, Ross and others, who cared so lovingly for our mother.  She loved you all and considered you friends.

A small service will be held on Thursday, May 7 ^th at 11 A.M. for immediate family and those who wish to join remotely. The family plans to gather at a later date, when it is safe to do so, to celebrate her life.
