Bernice Rose Hinds
Bernice Rose (née Begin) Hinds passed away peacefully at the ranch of her daughter in Thompson Falls, Montana, on August 3rd 2020 at the age of 97.
She was born to Elmer and Leonthina (née Striebel) Begin on November 25th 1922 and raised on the family farm in Plymouth, Minnesota the fifth of 10 siblings.
For 50 years she was the loving and devoted wife of Kingsley Cyril Hinds, who preceded her in death on November 10th 1995. Together they raised 12 children.
Bernice was a devout Roman Catholic who consistently emphasized and demonstrated the importance of a strong faith to her children. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Corcoran, where she led the rosary at daily mass for 20 years and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society. Before becoming a resident of Saint Therese in New Hope, she volunteered at their Auxiliary for 30 years. She completed pilgrimages to Fátima and Our Lady of Lourdes shrines. One of her highest honors was being blessed by Pope John Paul II in the Vatican.
Bernice is survived and adored by her children, Pamela (Sandy Prazak), Colleen, Jennifer (Haven St. Anne), Camille, Sterling, Christopher, Leontyne (Jeffrey Maxwell), Anthony and Stephanie; and daughter in-laws, Lisa (Stuart) Hinds and Kathy (Stanley) Hinds; and her grandchildren, Kimberely Gorman, Christine (Petros) Kyvelos, Melissa (Bill) Dickinson, Mark Vaida (Roger Beck), Hannah and Shiloh (Mary) Hernandez, Heather (Chad) Varian, Meghan Hinds, Calla Webb (fiancé Luke Schleder), Ivan Webb, Stephen (Tito), Marissa, Joseph and James (Jessica) Hinds, Casey and Hilary Hinds, Jack, Alex and Elliot Maxwell and Claire Horobin. Bernice was also blessed with 9 beautiful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Maxine Begin, Evelyn Begin and Juanita (Hinds) Hazel and numerous nieces and nephews who were all so loving and caring to Bernice over the years.
Bernice is now reunited with her husband Kingsley Cyril and their three beloved sons, Stephen John, Stanley Joseph and Stuart Hilary Hinds; her siblings, Edwin, Wallace, Jerome, Lorraine (Lietzke), Marie Doris (Williams), Cora (Noonan), Ralph, Rosella (Landers), Eugene and Ramona Begin; and parents Elmer and Leonthina.
Bernice’s greatest joys in life were her faith and her family. We have been blessed to have her on earth for such a long time. She reminds us to love one another, life is short, and JESUS loves you!
