Arthur Jude Kearney
Passed away on March 29, 2022 at the age of 73, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and is now at peace and with the lord.
Artie spent his childhood years in Long Island, New York with his parents; William & Virginia (Bill & Ginnie) and his sister Charlene (Shush). By the age of 14, his parents passed away and he lived with relatives until he moved to Minnesota to attend the University of St. Thomas. Shush remained East and resides in Maryland.
A few years in to college, he began a full-time job with John G. Kinnard. A brokerage firm where he met his wife, Constance (Connie). He also started a 40 year career in the securities business. From mail boy to Vice President of Trading and to the top industry position of the Chairman of the Securities Traders Association.
Art and Connie were married for 52 faith filled, fun and loving years. Over 20 of those years, they welcomed seven incredible kids:
Shannon Kearney – Shawn Anderson
Kate Muhl – Chris
Will Kearney – Janel
Dan Kearney – Nicole Devine
Joe Kearney – Brett Ott
Maureen Kearney – Claire Schrott
Matt Kearney
Honorable mention – Sully the dog
And the most wonderful grandkids:
Becca Wilharm
Kelsey Lewis
Brady Muhl
Ryan Muhl
Colin Muhl
Abbie Muhl
Keaton Kearney
Sydney Kearney
Calvin Kearney
Isla Kearney
When Art married Connie, he instantly gained 7 sisters, 4 brothers and parents in Jerry and Ann Inveen. Uncle Artie was a fan favorite at the Christmas parties and some of his best friendships came from this big family.
Art had a way of bringing people together; it started with the strong bond he built for his family but it didn’t stop there. Community always followed him, including; St. Bart’s parish, his professional network, his HUGE extended family, his buddies or his Thunder Lake neighbors.
He never shied away from serving on a committee for something he was passionate about. If he could help, he would. If someone needed a job, he found them a job. He was generous with his time and talents.
Music ran through his veins and he loved to dance – Eagles, ABBA, Roy Orbison – some of his favorites.
He never wasted a good time and he passed that on to his kids.
The cabin was his favorite place, another thing he passed on to his kids. He loved working on projects and could do everything from installing lights to finishing an interior. He loved everything about the lake; fishing, swimming, boating, hours of towing kids, bonfires and reading on the pontoon.
Art was an amazing husband, father, brother, friend, colleague and servant of the Lord. He is a legend that has left everyone else on earth in awe. Earth without ART is just eh.
