Arthur E. Thole Sr. age 98 of Loretto, Minnesota passed into the arms of our Lord on March 24 th , 2021. Born July 21 st , 1922 to Anthony and Dorothy Thole he was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; infant daughter; Ann; parents, Anthony and Dorothy; siblings, Tony, George, Bill, Dorothy, Gloria, and son-in-law, Martin Hoffer.
He is survived by his children; Arthur Jr (Mary), Pamela Hoffer, and Daniel; brother, Tom (Darlene); grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa), Molly (Bob), Jeannette (Scott), Jill (Brent); 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A devout Catholic, Art’s faith guided him throughout his life. He was a living example of that faith as seen by his charitable donations and kindness. He attended Mass daily and Eucharistic Adoration bi-weekly and frequently would substitute if needed.
A machinist by trade, Art owned and operated his own business in the mid 1960’s. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. His longevity provided him with the rare opportunity to hunt together with his son Art Jr., grandson Chris, and great-grandson Zach for many years; 4 generations! Snowbirds, Art and Sue, enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona with their son Dan where his gardening skills and landscaping abilities were put to the test. Art’s loving daughter Pam has been by his side through it all and their bond is unbreakable even now. Art grew up in a family that loved music and would sing around the piano. Art was always singing!
We wish to thank the staff at Park View Care Center and Guardian Angels Hospice in Buffalo for their compassionate care and friendship throughout the last 10 months.
