Arthur Julius Finklea, Born November 13, 1924, in Foley, Alabama, passed away July 11, 2018 in Milwaukie, Oregon.
Arthur attended Pensacola High School and in February 1943 enlisted in the Army Air Corps. Art was in active duty during WWII in India and Guam. After the war Art moved to Minneapolis, where he met his bride to be Mary Kerich. Art and Mary married on October 14, 1950. They lived in St. Louis Park, MN for 33 years, where they raised their three children. Art had a 37 year career working as an electrician for Northern States Power (Xcel Energy). Art was a member of the IBEW for 70 years. Art and Mary retired to their home on Long Lake in Park Rapids, MN and lived there for 14 years. They moved to West Linn, OR in 2002 and to the Springs at Clackamas Woods in 2008.
Mary preceded Art in death in December 2014.
Art is survived by his three children Edward (Erin) of Ashland, OR; Charlotte (Michael Dunn) of Santa Ana, CA; Richard of Minneapolis, MN; granddaughter Lorraine Finklea of Baltimore, MD.
Mass of Christian Burial, will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, (Most Holy Trinity Chapel) 5071 Eden Ave., Edina MN on July 31, 2018. Rosary and visitation at 9:45 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am.
Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN. Reception to follow at Crowne Plaza, 3 Appletree Sq., Bloomington, MN.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: David C. Ring Scholarship Fund, IBEW Local 160, Attn: Rose Eiden, 2909 Anthony Lane, St. Anthony, MN 55418.
