Art McClellan was born in Minneapolis, MN September 24, 1962. He died peacefully surrounded by family at home on April 23rd, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be remembered for his quiet manner, giving heart, a wonderful father and teacher. He was our family’s moral compass, leader, mentor and was committed to doing what was right. As a man of faith, he was more than ready to meet His Jesus. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur McClellan and brother Aaron McClellan. Art is survived by wife Maxine (Gilyard) McClellan and children: Justin McClellan, Christa Golden, Arthur McClellan and Eugene McGhee and six grandchildren. Art is also survived by his mother Joyce McClellan, sister Annette (Joe) Krogman and Angela Hatfield (Scott) and brother Alan McClellan (Alana). There will be a Celebration of Life Thursday, May 2 at Living Word Christian Center 9201 75th Ave. N. Brooklyn Park, MN in the chapel. Noon visitation, Celebration of Life at 1:00, followed by dessert bar. There will be a potluck gathering at 4:30 at Maxine’s home. In lieu of flowers, Maxine is requesting perennial plants such as trees, shrubs, flowers, etc. to make a special place in her back yard in honor of Art.
