Anna Mary “Sam” Delaney (Lyons), age 81 of Plymouth lived a full life caring for her family and many others.  She passed away peacefully 12/12/21 with her husband by her side.  Survived by husband of 56 years, Jack; children, Patty Erickson (Chris), Tim Delaney (Angie) and Kathleen Delaney (Kevin Boran); grandchildren, Zeke, Matias, Alexina, Kara, Becky, Ben, and Max; the rest of “The Basic 9”: Margaret, Sheila, Clare, Allie, Mike, Tom, Regina and Bill, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Anna Mary was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, attending Mount Carmel High School. She graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with two double majors: Physics & Math and Theology & Philosophy. She met Jack while at Creighton University. In 1965 they married and began a family. Anna Mary taught Math in the Wayzata School District and then spent 30 years working as a compliance officer working with pension plans. She was involved with Sharing and Caring Hands, Sowers of Justice, PRISM, and many other non-profit organizations.  Over the years she was a steady presence in her local church, serving regularly as a lector and eucharistic minister, as well as leading Confirmation and Bible study classes.  Anna Mary devoted her life to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday (12/17), 11 AM with K of C Rosary 9:45 AM and visitation 10-11 AM at the Church of St. Mary of the Lake, 105 North Forestview Lane, Plymouth.  Masks are strongly encouraged.  Entombment Gethsemane Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation  to Interfaith Outreach, 1605 Co. Rd. #101 No., Plymouth, MN 55447.
