Ann V. Wadlund

Ann V. (Guilfoyle) Wadlund, 95-½ years young died peacefully on Saturday, May 9, Plymouth, MN, formerly of Sun City West, AZ. Born October 26, 1924, in Combined Locks, WI.

Survived by daughters, Lynn (Matt) Abe of Plymouth and Gail (“adopted” son Ron/Mac) Mackiewicz of Fox Point, WI and 2 grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) and Emily Abe; sister, Theresa Stueber and sisters-in-law, Jane Van Geffen, Mary (Cal) Wilson; nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by first husband, Joseph Guilfoyle, Jr. in 1973 and second husband, Douglas Wadlund in 2001; parents, Martin and Catherine Van Geffen, brother, Donald and brothers/sisters-in-law, Ken Stueber, Jean (Rusty) Hodgskin, Robert (Virginia) and Donald (Ann) Guilfoyle.

Mom fought hard against the virus and was prepared for her heavenly journey. She loved her family, her faith and faith traditions (especially Mother Angelica on EWTN), her friends, playing word games with Mac, playing cards, reading, volunteering, Mexican beer and sweets. She was an active, vital person and wanted you to know:

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughter and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, Mon., July 19 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 Cty. Rd. 24, Medina.

Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
