On January 18th, 2021 Ann Svensson, loving mother and grandmother went home at age 70.
Ann was born on March 14, 1950 in Blooming Prairie, MN to Mary and Ernest Christianson. In addition to starting and owning a restaurant she worked as a page at the MN state capitol and volunteered at home free women’s shelter.
Ann spent her adult life in Plymouth, MN where she raised two children. She was the beloved Granna-Ann to her adoring grandchildren and grandpuppy.
Ann had a passion for the sun, golf, gardening, and walking with her best friend and neighbor. She won her share (or more) of golf tournaments at Golden Valley Country Club and also enjoyed playing rounds with her neighbors later in life. She also had a hole in one at Baker National on June 8, 2008. When she wasn’t on the course, you may have found her “floating” or sun bathing preferably lakeside but anywhere would do. Possibly the only thing as impressive as her golf swing and tan was her garden. Admired by the neighborhood, her garden brought joy to all passersby.
Ann will be welcomed by and is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Christanson; her mother, Mary Christianson; her sister, Joan Ingvalson. She is survived by her children, Timothy Svensson and Britta (Bradley) Martin; her grandchildren, Aiden and Aria; her brother, David (Brenda) Christianson; brother-in-law, James Ingvalson; and nieces and nephews, Traci (Jade) Hennen, Jill (Joe) Fisher, Joshua Christianson, Eric Christianson, and Carter Hennen.
Ann’s funeral will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Hamel, MN at 11am on Friday, the 29th of January. The service will be live streamed for those who feel safer at home. (www.saintannehamel.org)
A memorial bench will be set aside Lake Camelot where she enjoyed walking daily. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the family directly (Britta Martin 17820 45th Ave No., Plymouth, MN 55446), excess funds will be distributed between the catholic church, wounded vets, and the cancer research fund.
