Adeline Galloway

Adeline A. Galloway, age 92, of Robbinsdale, MN passed away on Sept. 2, 2017.

Adeline was born on December 27, 1924 in New Ulm, MN.  She was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Shimshock) Altenburg. Adeline, her six sisters and two brothers spent their youth in New Ulm, MN where she graduated from New Ulm High School.

She was united in marriage to James Galloway of New Ulm, MN on August 19, 1946.  Of this union, five children were born; Connie (Bob) Winter, Balsam Lake, WI, Chris (Spencer) Hayes, Clarissa, MN, Jim (Laura) Galloway, Mesa, AZ, Duncan (Gail) Galloway, Nerstrand, MN, and Doug (Jennifer) Galloway, Apple Valley, MN.

Adeline loved to travel.  She went to the Holy Land and visited several cities in Europe, mostly enjoying her German heritage.

She worked for Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, MN for 17 years as an M.T.A. and C.N.A.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Altenburg; her sisters, Dale Suess, Lucille Lindmeyer Witt, Leona Morrissey, Florence Altenburg, Evie Olseth, Phyllis Squire; her two brothers, Clarence Altenburg, Leander Altenburg, and unborn baby Sam.

She is survived by her five children, Connie, Chris, Jim, Duncan and Doug; eight grandchildren, Jim, Nicole, Kari, Melissa, Susie, Kirk, Erin and Ryan; three great-granddaughters, Lauren, Danica and Natalie, three great-grandsons, Avyn, Nicholas and Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Many of you were blessed with her friendship and kindness.  We, as her children, will never fill the void she has left.

She was a Mother, Gramma, Gramma Al and GG.  She was the best!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 4087 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale, MN on Saturday, Sept. 16th, at 10 AM.

Interment will be at The Catholic Cemetery Columbarium in New Ulm, MN on Saturday, Sept. 16th, at 2 PM.
