Nikolay G. Pachenko went to be with the Lord on Monday September 5th, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born on May 29th 1945, in Lapusna, Moldova. Nikolay was born at the end of the Great Depression and WWII. He was born prematurely at 32 weeks, and despite prematurity, famine, and poverty, he lived. He loved to study. His favorite subject was math. At 18 years old, he joined the army and served for four years in Crimea, Ukraine. After his military service, he went on to college and graduated with an accounting degree, which was his life career.
In 1969, at the age of 24, he got married to Zinoviya. In 1970, they had their first child and had the grace of raising six children together. They’ve been married for 53 years and were a true team in their marriage.
In 1984, his life changed forever when he accepted, together with Zinoviya, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Serving the Lord became his life goal, and he did it very faithfully. He spent countless of hours reading and studying the Bible. He loved to study the Bible with his family and friends. He taught his children how to love God and how to walk close to Him.
In 2002, Nikolay immigrated to the United States with his family, where he enjoyed 20 years of memories together. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He loved to be in the nature, to take walks outside, and to go fishing. Fishing became his favorite hobby during his retirement. He loved his children and wife very much. Together with Zinoviya, they helped raise their grandchildren. He was a favorite grandpa and truly enjoyed spending time with all his ten grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
Nikolay will be missed forever but he knew Christ as his Savior and now is home with Him. We await with confidence that glorious day when we will be reunited with Nikolay in our eternal heavenly home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Zinoviya Pachenko; his children, Vera (Simeon) Daskalyuk, Nina (Vladimir) Ogui, Aliona (Andrey) Luchyak, Ion (Lidia) Pacencu, Mariana (Viorel) Ureke, Lidiya (Marin) Lastur; and his grandchildren, Slava (Nelly), Aleks (Dorina), Igor, Alena, Denis, Nathan, Gabriella, Naomi, Elise, Jason and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gheorge and Profira Pachenko, and two sisters: Vera and Maria.
Visitation will be on Thursday 9/8 6-9pm with a service at 6:30pm, the funeral service will be held Friday 9/9 at 10:30am. Both events will be at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 15800 37th Ave. N., Plymouth, MN.
