Lawrence D Elsen

Age 76 of Orono, passed away peacefully at home on October 29th, 2023.  Larry was diagnosed with esophageal, liver and stomach cancer.  Survived by wife Kathy; daughters Julie Elsen Seymour (Kimo) and Amy Elsen Campbell (Chris); son Mark Dominic Elsen; grandchildren Emma Campbell, Lauren Campbell and Jack Campbell; sister Jeanne Elsen and cousin Jim Elsen.  Preceded in death by parents Herman “Corky” and Elaine Kranz Elsen.  Larry was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and friend who offered love, kindness, unbiased guidance and the gift of time to all of those that he encountered.  He was a pillar of strength and always had a calm and unique perspective on life.  He loved without expectations and avoided stress and drama and any cost.  Larry had a fun loving sense of humor and always left you with a glass half full.  Larry was the former owner of D. J. Kranz Co. originally founded by his grandfather Dominic J Kranz, he began working in this family business at a young age.  Larry will be missed by all that loved him.  Catholic Funeral, Friday, November 3rd , 9:30 -12:00 at the Church of Our Lady of the Lake, 2385 Commerce Blvd, Mound, MN .  Visitation at the church from 9:30-11:00 followed by Mass 11:00-12:00.  A luncheon and time to share stories about Larry’s life will follow at the church.  Private interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.  Memorials preferred to North Memorial Hospice.
